William David Kearvell was born at Funtington Sussex in 1894, the youngest of the
eight children of Frederick Philip Kearvell (1854-1919) a Bricklayer and Emily Ede
(1855-1942), and died of his wounds on 1st August 1917 in Belgium during the First
World War where he served in the Royal Field Artillery.
He is the only family member to lose his life during either of the World Wars in
